Solve picross puzzles inspired by the show The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross with puzzle rules derived from Hungry Cat! Bob Ross's motivational speaking will help you complete the interesting art pieces waiting you.

Created for Awful Summer Jam 2018.

How to Play

Click on a canvas to open up one of the puzzles in the game. Then, click on one of the four quadrants of the puzzle to start painting!

Your colors are located in the bottom left corner on the art palette. Switch between colors by clicking on a new one.

There are numbers on the top and left side of the 5x5 grid. Each number represents how many of a color there is in that row or column. If the number has a circle behind it, that color is lined up together in the row or column. Otherwise, the color is broken up by other color(s)!

Click to set a color to the grid. You can also hold down the mouse button and drag to color multiple squares.

When you solve the small piece of the puzzle, click on the back arrow to go back to the full puzzle and select another quadrant to paint. Once you've completed all four quadrants, you'll have a beautiful, scenic pixel painting. Congratulations!

The game is neat! But it's really upsetting sorta because this just. isn't how picross works. I get that's supposed to be the twist, but it's not really fun as much as it's just frustrating playing guess-and-check until you get it right. I want to use my BRAIN when playing picross, not just guessing over and over.

I was never interested in picross until I played this. It's a little buggy, and the colors are hard to differentiate, but I like this mindless relaxation. I haven't found another picross game as fun.

I love this twist on picross!

im so confused the top row is counteracting the side row?? help

unlike picross, the numbers don't indicate continuous groups and you just need to guess until you've gotten the order correct. I'm personally giving up on the game because of it

R.I.P Bob Ross

I love the concept, I love the music, but there is no way to clear squares. Ultimately this game is unplayable for me. I am sad.

incredibly creative picross game. i love it, and the music is so relaxing, this game is so comfortable

Great implementation and awesome name :)

My only complain would be that sometimes is hard to see what the completed puzzle is, and that takes away a bit the satisfaction of completing it all.  But this is a minor issue.

On the other hand, i like how it changes the picture again and again even though it is the same canvas.

This hurts my head

I love how this game chooses colors that are hard for us color-blind XD 10/10 good work! btw if you want to clear the paint, make sure to beat the devil out of it.

This game deserves 5 stars just based on the idea and name!

In addition to the fantastic pixel art I liked your Picross game very much because at the end of a puzzle never an 'absolutely finished' painting was established, because it could be transformed by new puzzles again in another variant. I think Bob Ross would have liked that. <3 With great pleasure I recommended your game in our compilation article about the Awful Summer Jam 2018 and I hope that more Picross friends will give it a try. :) Potentially interested people can take a look at the video, because there they can see also a minute of the gameplay. Keep up the great work! <3

Best wishes,
Sebastian

This is just awesome ! I'll test it this afternoon :D
